The company was established in 1992 as a partnership between the three founders, and its original range consisted of five drinks: herbal liqueurs (FERNET Alpina, MARIANA, AGRIMONA) and sweet liqueurs (KIWI and BANANA). The company took its name from the combination of herbs and alcohol: HERBA ALCO.

In 1994 the partnership became a limited liability company and its name was changed to a more Czech spelling - HERBA ALKO. The range was expanded to include the popular VODKA Region, Silesian RUM and the coconut liqueur COCO BAY.

In 1996 the company joined forces with the ECHO Theatrical Agency and the Jára Cimrman Theatre, Prague, to launch production of the bitter unisex liqueur CIMRMANOVA HYGEA HOŘKÁ. The HERBA ALKO range was also expanded to take in traditional products such as VODKA Silesia, REŽNÁ grain spirit, and PEPPERMINT liqueur. Additions to the company's premium premium products were Liqueur de GRIOTTE - a genuine natural product using no artificial ingredients or colourings, and the highly popular Albanian BOROVIČKA gin, distilled from selected juniper berries. The range of bottle sizes, originally consisting of 0.5, 0.7 and 1 litre, was expanded to include 0.2 litre bottles.

This range expansion led to an increase in production, the purchase of new adjusting technology, and the relocation of production to a new, larger plant in the village of Štítina u Opavy.

At the start of 2003 we launched a completely new product - the revolutionary rum and caramel liqueur CHE GUEVAERA. This product exceeded our expectations. CHE GUEVAERA is sold in unusual, eye-catching packaging, and offers an entirely new dimension of flavour. Other new lines include our extra fine, carefully matured VODKA Aurora, produced using a sophisticated process of multiple charcoal filtration, MARIANA spa liqueur, made according to an original recipe of the Mossler liqueur company dating back to 1875, GIN DRY 1820, distilled from juniper berries and flavoured with herbal and fruit extracts, MERUŇKA original apricot brandy, and BOROVIČKA yellow gin. The seventh of these new products is GINFIZZ, a 17% hit from the 1960s.

From the very beginning we have placed our prime emphasis on the quality of our products, choosing only the best raw materials, from high-quality water and fine base spirit to natural flavourings and distillates. Prior to adjustment, our products are stored in oak barrels of stainless steel tanks (depending on the product) and the maturing process is carefully supervised. Each batch is subjected to strict laboratory quality control.

The company's slogan, Convincing Quality, underlines our commitment to your satisfaction.
